IHM Spiritual Renewal Center Opportunities and Programs

Holy Week Services

* Opportunities
The Center is available for:
~private
~directed
~guided or
hermitage retreats

Any of the above retreats may be arranged on an individual or group basis or for those who wish to come apart for a time of quiet and prayer.

* Available Programs

On the Road

The staff of the Center is mobile and available to implement days of reflection or prayer for local communities, faculties, or special groups. These can be scheduled at your site: convent, school, church, or workplace.

* Spiritual Direction
With the aid of a director, an individual periodically reflects on and responds to her/his experiences of God in prayer and everyday life.

* Private Retreat
A time of solitude and prayer without guidance or direction from a member of the staff. Tapes and books are available for the use of the retreatants.

*
Directed Retreats

Usually a five to eight day period of silence, solitude and prayer. The material for prayer is usually scriptural based. A daily meeting with the director provides an opportunity for mutually reviewing the prayer experience and discerning the lead of the Spirit.

*
Guided Retreats
A time of silence in which a group of retreatants is guided through a prayer experience. Individual direction is also available at this time.

*
The Spiritual Exercises
Often called a school of prayer, the Spiritual Exercises were developed by St. Ignatius Loyola in the 16th century. The focus of the Exercises is that of finding God in all things; the goal of the Exercises is spiritual freedom. This experience usually occurs over a thirty-day period.

*
The 19th Annotation Retreat
For those who cannot leave their daily occupations for a thirty day period, the 19th Annotation provides an individualized extended retreat experience of the Spiritual Exercises in daily life.

*
Hermitage Retreat
In the midst of the hectic pace and demands of everyday living, the hermitage experience provides a place apart to renew, refocus and balance your life. This is a time of quiet solitude and holy leisure where you can be attentive to the voice of the Spirit. Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis for the two hermitages located on our property.

Days of Prayer: Plan your own day and use the Center facilities for:
~ Conference
~ Faith Sharing
~ Scriptural Prayer
~ Individual Consultation/Prayer with core member
~ Solitude
~ Eucharist
~ other forms of prayers

If you prefer, the Center staff is available to plan and facilitate these days for you.

* Reflection Days for IHM Sisters
Special days or weekends can be arranged for local communities, mission groups or interested Sisters.

* Sabbath Days/Weekend Retreats
The Center provides an oasis for those seeking "Sabbath Time" with the Lord.

* Directed Prayer Weekends
An opportunity for individuals to spend time with God in an atmosphere of prayerful silence and to meet with a spiritual director. It is an occasion to respond to Jesus' invitation to "Come away with me to an out-of-the-way place and rest a while."
