Profession
of Vows
Sr. Norma Poma Arpi, IHM, made profession of temporary vows
into the hands of Sr. Mary Persico, president of the Congregation
of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary,
at a Eucharistic Liturgy on Saturday, January 28. The liturgy
and ceremony were celebrated in the chapel of San Felipe,
in the prelature of Sicuani, Peru.
The celebrant, Rev. Victor Ramos, was joined by five priests,
Sr. Norma’s family members, many people from the surrounding
area, religious from other congregations as well as the
IHM Sisters, some of whom traveled to Peru for the occasion.
Sr. Norma, of Arequipa, Peru, came to know the IHM Sisters
through her association with the parish of San Felipe and
her pastoral experience in working with the IHM Sisters
there. She made her novitiate in Lima under the direction
of Sr. Michael Marie Hartman. She participated in the coursework
offered by the Conference of Religious of Peru.
Currently serving the people in the San Felipe community
where the profession took place are Srs.
Eileen Egan and Tomasa Fernandez. Serving in Lima, Peru,
are Srs. Michael Marie Hartman, Norma Poma Arpi, Jeanne
Marie Kearney and Dora Maria Vizcarra.
