Monday
of the First Week of Advent
December 1, 2003
Scripture:
Isaiah 2:1-5; Matthew 8:5-11
Reflection:
"Come, let us climb the Lord's mountain
to the house of the God of Jacob." - Isaiah 2:3
"Let
us go to the house of the Lord." - Psalm 122:1
"Many
will come…and will recline…at the banquet in the
Kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 8:5-11
Throughout
today's readings the mention of the word house or a reference
to a dwelling place appears ten times. Each time a gift of peace,
healing or celebration follows. The picture of a house or home
usually brings a feeling of love and comfort. We are a house,
a temple of the Lord. His peace, healing, love and comfort are
deep within us - a cause for celebration!
Suggested
Action:
During this beautiful yet sometimes hectic season of Advent,
go to the house within you and enjoy the gifts of the Spirit!
