of the First Week of Advent
December 4, 2003
Scripture:
Isaiah 26:1-6; Matthew 7:21, 24-27
Reflection:
"Everyone who listens to these words of
mine and acts on them will be like a wise person who built his
house on rock." Jesus is saying to us that if our faith
is deep and strong and rooted in our God, we can withstand anything
that is thrown upon us.
Trusting
that God will take care of us leads to living a faith-filled
life. Trusting someone is not always easy. It means giving that
person a certain amount of our own power and hoping that it
all will work out according to God's plan and not always our
own plan.
Have faith
in God's love for you and your God will protect you from any
kind of harm.
Suggested
Action:
Just for today, trust God completely!
