Scripture: Isaiah 54:1-10; Luke 7:24-30
Reflection:
Today we hear the word of Isaiah “for the mountains may
go away and the hills may totter, but my faithful love will
never leave you. . . .” It is during this time of Advent
that my expectations and anticipations lead me to encounter
the amazing faithfulness of our God. It is in the midst of my
own weakness and fragility that I am able to hope and prepare
myself for the coming of our Savior. It is in the longing for
peace and justice in our wounded world that I hope for the fulfillment
of God’s promise of love for all of us, and for the world.
The scriptures are the reminder of the story of God’s
love and faithfulness, from the promise to David to the angel
Gabriel’s announcement to Mary.
Now the challenge is to look for the fulfillment of God’s
faithful love in our own lives.
Suggested Action:
Recall any aspect of God’s faithful love in your life
during this past year and be thankful for it.
