O Radiant Dawn, Sun of Justice!
Scripture: Song of Songs 2:8-14; Luke 1:39-45
Reflection:
Mary’s visit to her cousin, Elizabeth, was an inspired
gift of consolation and peace. Both women were concerned not
only about giving birth but also for their sons and the lives
they would lead. They sought out one another. They consoled
and challenged each other. Together they prayed and talked and
waited for their Radiant Dawn.
We are doing the same as we live this Advent. We wait and pray
to let God be God in our lives. We wait and listen to hear the
voices of new prophets in our daily conversations and in our
Advent reading. We wait and ponder until what we think is possible
becomes actual, because we were ready to do something about
it. We spend our days watching for the one who is to come.
Suggested Action:
Today, let us pray: O Dayspring, come with Your Radiant Dawn.
Help us to recognize those moments today that are outbursts
of God’s presence. Grace us to find God in our meetings
and our greetings and to act in God’s name.
