Thursday
of the Second Week of Easter
April 22, 2004
Scripture:
Acts 5:27-33; John 3:31-36
Reflection:
“For the one whom God sent, speaks the words of God.”
From the Acts we read that Peter and the Apostles fill Jerusalem
with the good News about Jesus’ life and resurrection.
The high priest has them arrested because he is jealous of the
message still being presented.
How many times do we meet people in our daily lives who question
us about faithfulness? So many have drifted away from the Church
for various reasons and ask why are we still faithful to living
the Good News.
We are faithful because God will always send someone to speak
in His name and we must listen. What she or he looks like makes
no difference; listening will help us hear God’s words.
In a world where violence is an every day occurrance, being
faithful to listening and sharing God’s message of acceptance
and love through those we meet on the journey helps us carry
the resurrection experience to its fulfillment.
Suggested Action:
Reflect on the courage of Peter and the Apostles. Look for times
where you can be the messenger of “Good News” today.
