Tuesday
of the Third Week of Easter
April 27, 2004
Scripture:
Acts 7:51-8:1A; John 6:22-29
Reflection:
”What sign can you do, that we may see and believe in
you? What can you do?”
How often do we ask that question ourselves? We are constantly
looking for a sign of God’s presence in our lives. We
say things like, “If I get a raise, God, I will work even
harder at my job.” “If you make so and so well I
will work for a cure of cancer.” We bargain our lives
away. God is either laughing at us or weeping at our ignorance.
What are the signs of God’s presence and love that we
fail to recognize each day? What about the awesome sunrises
or the incredible sunsets that we have the joy to experience
at no cost? What about the people who touch our lives in great
and small ways daily? The food that is placed on our tables,
our good health, our ability to reach out and help those in
need are just some of the blessings sent from God. Unfortunately,
we walk through life subconsciously and it is only when tragedy
strikes that we seek a sign of God’s presence. Wake up
and look around, you won’t believe the blessings you will
find!
Suggested Action:
Pause throughout the day to notice the signs of God’s
presence in your life. Record them at the end of the day. God
has been there all along!
