Friday
of the Third Week of Easter
April 30, 2004
Scripture: Acts
9:1-20; John 6: 52 59
Reflection:
In the readings for today we are reminded of Paul’s dramatic
conversion, which enabled him to see life and it’s events
in a new way. John’s Gospel offers this same message to
each of us.
“My body is real food and my blood is real drink.”
In many ways each and every day we are also called to allow
ourselves to be food and drink for others. Perhaps someone needs
us to listen to them, or encourage their efforts or allow them
to unburden themselves of a sorrow. In these simple and ordinary
ways I believe that each of us along with Jesus can also say,
“My body is given for others as real food and drink.”
Suggested Action:
Be aware today of opportunities to be food and drink for others
who may cross your path. Be conscious also of the gift of food
and drink that others offer to you today in many simple ways.
