After Ash Wednesday

Scripture:
Deuteronomy 30:15-20; Luke 9:22-25
Reflection:
“And he said to them all, ‘If you want to come with
me, you must forget yourself, take up your cross every day,
and follow me.’” - Luke 9:23
Here Jesus is speaking about his impending suffering and death.
I am not anxious to go to Calvary, but I do want to walk with
him daily. Too often I concentrate on how heavy the cross is
and forget I am going with him not just to the Crucifixion but
also to the Resurrection.
My days may be filled with joys and sorrows, disappointments
and difficult situations, but with Jesus as my model, I can
overcome each hurdle. He has given us a model for life.
Then I
must follow his example, his words, and his way.
Suggested
Action:
As the day ends, thank God for all the little joys and annoyances
that entered your life today.
