Tuesday
of the Fourth Week of Lent
March 23, 2004
Scripture:
Ezekiel 47:1-9, 12; John 5:1-16
Reflection:
Jesus asked the man, do you want to be well? The man said he
had no one to help him. Someone always got into the water before
him. So he waited. Jesus came along and healed him.
We too can be healed by Jesus, if only we will wait for him
and trust him. This is easier said than done. We want him to
heal us right now, according to our own agenda. Even if we do
know that it doesn’t always work very well, we find it
easier to trust in ourselves or others than to trust in Jesus.
As I grow in age, and in my faith, I know that only by trusting
Jesus can I truly be healed. Each day I pray for Jesus to be
with me and heal me of my sins of envy, anxiety, impatience
and other faults. I ask him to get me through the day with his
peace
and that in some way I can pass that peace on to others.
Suggested Action:
Pray today: Lord Jesus be my guide through this day. Heal me
of my faults so that I can help others in their search for healing.
