Scripture: Daniel
3:14-20; 91-92, 95; John 8:31-42
Reflection:
In my reflection on the text of Daniel, I found the figure of
King Nebuchadnezzar to represent the materialistic settings
in which we so often find ourselves. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego
represent the safety net of our three vows. In our daily living
of our vows we become purified through the fires of temptation.
The strength of religious life lies in how we live our ministry.
Dare we see where these sections of Scripture are leading us?
Dare we see ourselves in oneness with all peoples? Dare we see
ourselves as prophets in this age? Dare we realize we are here
for a time? Dare we realize why God is leading us and dare we
dream of where we are to go?
Suggested Action:
Take time to meditate this day on the trials that God has seen
you and our congregation through. The fire that has consumed
our individuality and transformed that individuality into oneness
to reach his people has united our talents and dreams. Yes,
we dare to be all that we can be because of our oneness in spirit.
