Thursday
of the Seventh Week of Easter
May 27, 2004
Scripture: Acts 22:30; 23:6-11; John 17:20-26
Reflection:
Life is to be surrendered in order to be transformed and shared.
Paul surrendered himself to the transforming power of the cross.
Thus he was to share the good news not only in Jerusalem but
in Rome as well.
The graces and mercy experienced by St. Paul are still at work
today. Living the Gospel is the truest way of proclaiming the
good news. This will be possible only if our hearts are anchored
in God whose grace inspires us.
Transformation is not easy, but God’s graces will inspire
us to abandon ourselves to God’s will, to become authentic,
and to listen to Jesus as Paul did.
St. Bernard once said, “Our life can be found only through
conversion.”
Suggested Action:
Consider how you can allow God to transform you. Surrender your
heart to the God who loves and inspires you.
