Tuesday
of the Fourth Week of Easter
May 4, 2004
Scripture:
Acts 11:19-26; John 10:22-30
Reflection:
After the death of Stephen, both Jews and gentiles were converted
through the preaching of the disciples. Barnabas came to Jerusalem
searching for Paul and brought him to Antioch. Here the disciples
were called Christians for the first time.
While Jesus was teaching in the Jerusalem Temple, the people
asked, “Are you the Messiah?” Jesus answered that
he had revealed himself many times by his deeds in their midst.
They, however, were not convinced by deeds and they tried to
have him declare that he was the Messiah. He in turn reminded
them that they did not know him because they did not hear his
voice and follow his teachings. They were not his sheep or they
would follow him.
Suggested Action:
Recall your actions of the day and thank God for leading you
to him.
