Wednesday
of the Fourth Week of
Easter

Scripture: Acts
12:24-13:5A; John 12:44-50
Reflection:
“I have come as a light into the world.” - John
12:46
Jesus spoke these words to his Apostles and to us. Do we come
as he did – a light into the world – challenging
the darkness, or do we allow our lights to fade into the shadows?
Perhaps our flames have been extinguished by the winds of anger,
the rising waters of criticism, or the cold gusts of jealousy.
At the Easter Vigil we were reborn with Christ – our faith
ignited by the paschal candle into the glory of the resurrection.
How can we fan our flames to show the way? If there are times
our flames are small, Jesus will be there to fan them to a blaze.
If we see one another’s flames fading, we must do all
we can to surround each other with the love and support that
will energize the flame to a fire which will be aglow forever.
If we can keep our flames alight for Jesus, with what burning
love he will receive us into heaven where our flames will be
consumed in the fire of his love.
Suggested Action:
Spend some time fanning the embers of your faith to a blazing
flame to light the way for others.
