Wednesday
of the Fourth Week of Easter
April 20, 2005
Scripture: Acts 12:24 -13:5a; John 12: 44-50
Reflection:
“…the word of the Lord continues to spread and increase.”
-Acts 12:24.
“I have come to the world as its light, to keep anyone who
believes in me from remaining in the dark” -John 12:46
In a world invaded by news and conversations about wars, natural
disasters, and violence surrounding us, the word of God comes
as good news. Jesus brought us salvation; brought us light where
there is darkness. He is alive and with us! That is good news!
We need to remember not to dwell so much in the negative daily
news, but in that which frees us and gives us hope, light and
new life.
Sharing and spreading God’s word to others is taking them
light, hope and life! It is taking them good news in the midst
of bad news. Living according to God’s Word is spreading
and sharing God’s good news with others.
Easter is a time to share the most wonderful news: God has saved
us! He is alive and with each one of us! Alleluia!
Suggested Action:
What is the good news that Jesus wants me to share with others
today?
