Thursday
of the Fifth Week of Easter
April 28, 2005
Scripture: Acts 15:7-21; John 15:9-11
Reflection:
Today we hear of God’s great gift of love for us and the
everlasting joy that is our earthly treasure. How often do we
become entangled in our daily routines, get caught up in activities,
situations and pettiness that slowly draw us from the sheer joy
of unconditional love.
Peter strongly directs the Jews not to be mean-spirited toward
the Gentiles because these people were gifted with the Holy Spirit
as well. Barnabas and Paul encourage them by recalling “all
the signs and wonders God had worked among the Gentiles and through
them.”
Suggested Action:
Do not be mean-spirited today. Do not gossip.
