Friday
of the Fifth Week of Easter
April 29, 2005
Scripture: Acts 15:22-31, John 15; 12-17
Reflection:
As I read the reading from Paul in Acts I heard of how members
of the church were chosen to bring the message to the people of
Antioch. The believers, after they read the letter were filled
with joy and encouragement.
“My commandment is this: love one another just as I love
you. The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to
give his life for them.”
Just as Paul’s messengers risked their lives, we too risk
our lives by living and carrying the word of God wherever we are
and to whomever we meet.
If you sometimes wonder if what you are doing matters, think about
how people react when you’re around. Do you bring Jesus
to the group? Another suggestion is to think about these words
from a song “Something Worth Leaving behind” by Lee
Ann Womack.
If I will love then I will find
I have touched another life and that’s something
Something worth leaving behind.
Suggested Action:
Be happy! Be encouraged as you recall the lives you’ve touched.
Show your love today by giving a “hug” to someone
and say “I love you”!
