Saturday
of the Sixth Week of Easter
May 7, 2005
Scripture: Acts 18:23-28; John 16:23B-28
Reflection:
“On that day you will have no questions to ask me.”
-John 16:23 “I have spoken to you in veiled language.”
-John 16:25
Life is a mystery to be lived - yet what is even more mysterious
lies ahead - and we will all, without exception, one day experience
all that God has promised “in veiled language.”
In this life there are many questions. So much truth and goodness
are manifested on this earth; yet we also experience pain and
injustice and ignorance.
How, we ask, will God’s promises be fulfilled? How will
we come to know the answers to all the questions that burn deeply
within our hearts?
“On that day you will have no questions to ask Me.”
One day we will understand.
Suggested Action:
Ask God today for the grace to live each day - one day at a time
- with openness and faith, recognizing goodness as well as injustice,
praising God, forgiving one another and striving to make a difference
in this world with the hope that one day it will all come together
and we will understand - just as God promised.
